ERPNext

The app is in development. It targets Frappe and ERPNext v15 and v16.

merkora_erpnext is a Frappe app you install on your bench. It does three things.

Locate buttons

Work orders, warehouses (including kitting boxes) and other configured document types get a Locate button. It asks Merkora to blink every label bound to that record. On a work order, it blinks the label of the kitting box the order is packed in.

Labels follow your records

When a configured document changes, the app sends Merkora a short signed hint with the document type and name. Merkora reads the current record through the ERPNext REST API with its own service user and redraws every label that depends on it.

This means:

  • Labels never show data the service user can't read.
  • Lost or repeated hints do no harm; Merkora always reads the current state.
  • A periodic reconcile fixes anything a hint missed, for example after a restore.

Button presses come back

Merkora sends button presses to the app as signed webhooks. The app adds a comment to the bound record's timeline, for example "Picked at KIT 164", and you can hook your own logic onto it.

Setup

  1. Install the app on your bench and run the migration.
  2. Create a service user for Merkora with read access to the document types you want on labels, and generate an API key and secret for it.
  3. In the Merkora control center, add an ERPNext connection with your site URL and the service user's key. Copy the connection's signing secret.
  4. In ERPNext, open Merkora Settings: enter the control center URL, an API key from the control center, and the signing secret. Choose which document types send hints and show Locate buttons.
  5. Bind labels to records in the control center, or from the record itself once the label is registered.

Example: kitting boxes

A common setup binds each kitting box label to the box (a warehouse) and lets Merkora find the open work order packed in it. The label shows the order number with a QR code, the item, quantity, due date, priority and production cell. When planning moves the order up to express, the label redraws with a red band, and the Locate button on the work order makes the box blink.
